Decree 2 On the old and new day (henēi kai neai) of Skirophorion, the thirty-fourth of the prytany. Of the (10) presiding committee (proedrōn) Demetrios of Erchia was putting to the vote. The Council and People decided. Hieronymos son of Oikopheles of Rhamnous proposed: since the recorder (anagrapheus),+1+ Kallikratides, has managed well and justly (15) the writing up of the documents (grammatōn) and the prytanies have crowned him, and in other respects he is performing his office well and justly, the Council shall resolve: that the presiding committee (proedrous) allotted to preside in the next (20) Assembly shall introduce him to the People and put his case on the agenda, and submit the opinion of the Council to the People, that it seems good to the Council to praise Kallikratides son of Kallikrates of Steiria (25) for his excellence and justice towards the Council and the People and to crown him with a gold crown of 500 drachmas, when he has rendered his accounts; and that, since the law also ordains it, if he should be deemed (30) to have performed his office justly, he shall be permitted to obtain from the People . . .
