. . . the Athenian People, to praise Ph- son of Admetos of Priene, and crown him with a gold crown of a thousand drachmas; and he shall also be proxenos (5) and benefactor of the Athenian People, both himself and his descendants, and they shall have right of access to the Council and the People first after the sacred business (hiera), and right of ownership (egktēsin) of land and a house, according to the law; and the Council in Samos shall take care of them, (10) and the People and the generals [sent out] from Athens [at any time], so that they suffer no harm; and the prytany secretary (grammatea kata prutaneian) shall inscribe this decree and stand it on the acropolis; and for inscribing the (15) stele the treasurer of the People shall give [30] drachmas from the People’s fund for expenditure on decrees; and to invite the envoys of the Prienians to hospitality in the city hall (prutaneion) tomorrow. col. 1 [In crown: . . . ] col. 2 In crown: The People.
