(10) Sokles and the city shall have the profit (karpōsin) for twenty-five years; and the city shall have the profit (karpousthai) in the one year and Sokles in the other year in alternation, until the twenty-five years have elapsed for both; and in the first year (15) the city shall have it; and each shall bring in the [proceeds (karpeian)] at their own expense; and the gathering (sullogēn) shall be permitted for Sokles [and the city] from everywhere that there may be proceeds (karpeiai); and Sokles shall complete the gathering (sullogēn) of the proceeds (karpeias) (20) by the end of each archon year; and Sokles shall have the same means of gathering (sullogēs), regarding sale (praseōs) and valuation (timēseōs) and exaction (praxeōs) of property (chrēmatōn), as there would be for the city; and when Sokles has started (25) the working, it shall not be possible for any [Athenian any longer?] to propose or put to the vote that Sokles should leave off the working, or to hinder the working, until the profit has been reaped (karpōsētai) [for the prescribed time]; (30) and if anyone proposes or puts to the vote that he must leave off, let him pay one thousand drachmas sacred (hieras) to Athena [and] . . . . . . of the damage; and the matter shall be subject to litigation in the commercial courts (en tais emporikais); but if anyone is caught (35) stealing or causing theft or conspiring maliciously, or hinders Sokles from working . . . and Sokles . . .
