Of the presiding committee (proedrōn) [Euthy?]krates of [Aphidna?] was putting to the vote. . . . of Potamos proposed: concerning the lawful petition which Asklepiodoros son of Poly- of - (5) is deemed to have made to the Council, the People shall resolve: since Asklepiodoros was a good man, fighting against the enemy, sailing on the triereme of Chares of Aixone , to praise (10) him and crown him with a foliage crown for his manly virtue (andragathias) and invite him to hospitality in the city hall (prytaneion) tomorrow; and he and his descendants shall have equality of taxation (isoteleian) , while resident at Athens , like the (15) others who have equality of taxation (isoteleis) , so that everyone who serves on campaign with the Athenians may know that the People honours good men; and having inscribed this decree on a stone stele, let the secretary stand it (20) on the acropolis; and for the inscribing let the treasurer of the People give twenty drachmas from the People’s fund for expenditure on decrees. Decree 2 Kephisophon son of Kallibios of Paiania proposed: in other respects as proposed by the Council; (25) but since Asklepiodoros . . . was a good man concerning the Athenian People . . . | ||
