[Statue of] Flavius Vivius Benedictus, of perfectissimus rank. To a man of complete integrity, moderation, justice, forethought, faith, benevolence, endurance and kindness, Flavius Vivius Benedictus, of perfectissimus rank, governor ( praeses ) of the province of Tripolitania. Because, among other good deeds (by which with savings, assistance and deeds he favoured, aided, and elevated the whole province), he particularly bestowed some on this city of Sabratha, which rejoices, because after the ruin and the closure of the baths to the people, he restored them to the embellishment of the fatherland at no expense to anyone. The council and people ( ordo populusque ), all entreating together, set up this statue to its most distinguished patron, with enthusiastic gratitude. [On the side] Dedicated during the consulship of our lords Augusti Valens for the 6th time and Valentinian (II) for the 2nd time, on the 5th day of the Kalends of August.
