In order, therefore, that the Council and the People may be seen to render to all those who display love of honour (philotimoumenois) the appropriate honour and thanks, for good fortune, (5) the Council shall decide, that the presiding committee allotted for the forthcoming Assembly shall put these matters on the agenda, and submit the opinion of the Council to the People, that it seems good to the Council to praise the priest [of Asklepios?]+1+, - son of Sarapion of Pambotadai, and crown (10) him with a foliage crown for his piety (eusebeias) towards the gods and his love of honour (philotimias) towards the Council and the People; and the prytany secretary shall inscribe this decree on a stone stele and stand it in the sanctuary (hierĹi) [of Asklepios?]; (15) and for the inscribing and the stele the administrator shall allocate the expense accrued. | ||
