Decree 1 . . . . . . [the presiding committee (proedrous) allotted to preside in the People at the] next Assembly shall introduce Aratos to the People and put his case on the agenda, and submit the opinion of the Council to the People that (5) it seems good to the Council, to praise the city of the Tenedians and their representative (sunedron), Aratos,+1+ and his brothers, [Megatimos?] and Kallistotimos and - (10) children of [Mega?]atimos and crown each of them with a [foliage] crown; and they shall be permitted to obtain from the Athenian People whatever benefit they may be deemed to be worthy of; (15) and to praise the man who has come from Tenedos and invite him to hospitality in the city hall (prutaneion) tomorrow. Decree 2                 Philodemos son of Autokles of Eroiadai proposed: in other respects (20) as proposed by the Council, but the secretary of the Council shall inscribe this decree on a stone stele and stand it on the acropolis; and for inscribing the stele (25) the treasurer of the People shall give [20 or 30] drachmas from the People’s fund for expenditure on decrees.
