To Pontius Proserius Paulinus Iunior, of clarissimus rank, governor ( consularis of Campania, patron by descent, provider to the city, restorer of public works, irreproachable judge. For the merits of his father and his own, the most distinguished council and the most honest people of Puteoli set up this statue.
