    To Barbarus Pompeianus, of clarissimus rank, governor ( consularis ) of Campania; the whole council set up this statue in civilian garments in the forum for the perpetuity of his name and memory to the rejoicing of all, encouraged and supported by his benefits, and also because with kind disposition he decided to rebuild and restore the public buildings that had collapsed in ruins; under the supervision of Iulius Laurentius, of perfectissimus rank, curator of his city.
