(15) In order therefore that there may be an incentive (ephamillon) for all who know that the People, as is its ancestral custom, will also render to each commensurate thanks, for good fortune, the Council shall decide, that the presiding committee who are allotted for the forthcoming Assembly shall place (20) these matters on the agenda, and submit the opinion of the Council to the People, that it seems good to the Council to praise Aristokreon son of Nausikrates of S- and crown him with a foliage crown for his [good will] and love of honour (philotimias) towards the Athenian Council and (25) People; and he shall be proxenos of the People, and his descendants; and he shall also have, and his descendants, right of ownership (egktesin) of a house to the value of 3000 dr., and of land, 2 tal.; and if in the future he continues to display good will and [love of honour] (30) he may obtain other benefits from the Council and the People, [whatever he may be deemed worthy of]; and the prytany secretary shall inscribe this decree on a stone stele and stand it on the acropolis; and the treasurer of the military fund and (35)the board of administrators (tous epi tei dioikēsei) shall allocate the expenditure accrued for the making and [setting up?] of the stele.
