(5) On the eleventh of Thargelion, the twenty- third of the prytany. Principal Assembly. Of the presiding committee (proedrōn), Epichares of Hagnous was putting to the vote. The People decided. Demetrios son of Euktemon of Aphidna+1+ (10) proposed: since Phanodemos of Thymaitadai+2+ has legislated well and with love of honour (philotimōs) about the sanctuary of Amphiaraos, so that both the quadrennial festival (penteteris) may be as fine as possible, and the other sacrifices to the gods in (15) the sanctuary of Amphiaraos, and he has supplied means (porous peporiken) for these things and for the fitting out (kataskeuēn) of the sanctuary,+3+ the Council shall decide: that the presiding committee (proedrous) allotted to preside at the next Assembly (20) shall present Phanodemos to the People and put the matter on the agenda and submit the opinion of the Council to the People, that it seems good to the Council to praise Phanodemos son of Diyllos of Thymaitadai for his love of honour (philotimias) (25) towards the god and the sanctuary of Amphiaraos, and crown him with a gold crown of 1,000 drachmas; and the prytany secretary (grammatea kata prutaneian) shall inscribe this decree on a stone stele and stand it (30) in the sanctuary of Amphiaraos; and for inscribing the stele the treasurer of the People shall give 20 drachmas from the People’s fund for expenditure on decrees.
