    Nertus son of Dumnotalus, veteran of the First Cavalry Regiment of Spaniards (Hispani), sesquiplicarius, from the Lingaustri, (died) aged 60 after serving thirty-six years; here he lies. Valens, his "brother" (i.e. fellow soldier) set up this inscription to commemorate him.
