Encouraged by the blessedness of the times of our lords Gratianus, Valentinianus and Theodosius Augusti, Valerius Palladius, of clarissimus rank, governor ( consularis ) of Venetia et Histria, ordered that this statue, which lay neglected in the Capitolium for a long time, be set up in the most famous place of the forum.
