    When under his leadership and official command Achaia had been conquered and Corinth destroyed, Lucius Mummius, son of Lucius, consul, returned to Rome in triumph. On account of these successful accomplishments he, in his capacity as imperator dedicates this temple and statue of Hercules Victor, which he had vowed during the war.
