    [Statue of] Sucessus. To a man of admirable ancestry and too powerful integrity, Iulius Sulpicius Sucessus, of egregius rank, patron of the city ( colonia ), overseer of the port of Puteoli, on account of the services, affection and love of his towards the citizens and the fatherland, as the councillors and the most splendid people of Puteoli confirmed; the region Decatria, worshipper of the god of the fatherland, standard-bearers, gave special attention to the setting up of the statue, with solicitude.
