Den Totengeistern! Aelius Quartinus, cornicularius der legio II Italica, der pflichtbewussten und getreuen, hat (das Grab, den Grabstein) zu Lebzeiten gemacht für sich und Aurelia Crispina, seine Gattin, als sie noch lebte, und für Aelia Quartina, seine Tochter, verstorben mit vierzehn Jahren, und für die beiden Söhne, als sie noch lebten.

To the departed spirits. Aelius Quartinus, cornicularius (sergeant) of the 2nd legion Italica, the pious and loyal, made (this) when he was still alive, for himself and for Aurelia Crispina his wife, when she was still alive, he made (this), and for Aelia Quartina, his daughter, who died aged 14, and for his two sons who were still alive.
