    For the restorations see 12.719. - It was resolved by the] sacred xystic [travelling reverent august synod and the whole xystus under Herakles and the] emperor Caesar Traianus [Hadrianus Augustus, to send this decree to the most sacred Council and] the People of the Aphrodisians. Since Kalli[krates, son of Diogenes, from Aphrodisias, pancratiast, sacred victor, multiple victor, who from his earliest youth] having turned to the ways of virtue,[obtained by sweat and labour his noble reputation, and came to be ?admired by all men throughout] (5) the inhabited world [for the complete wisdom which he obtained by his labours; for, having excelled all the] ancients in his physique, he was admired [for his physique, and, taking care of his soul, he was congratulated on his conduct. On account of all these things malign Envy crept towards] his outstanding [reputation and, begrudging our common good, removed it], bearing down on the part of the [body most useful to pancratiasts, the shoulders.
