    To Leontius the praetorian prefect and ordinary consul. Driven by his merits, which promoted him through the single steps of honours to these peaks of dignities, the council ( ordo ) of the Berytians dedicated this statue in civil habit (= togate), placed at his own expense in bronze, by the decrees of the province of Phoenice (which were) confirmed by the divine judgement of our Lords Constantius and Constans the eternal emperors
