To a man of most fortunate memory, and celebrated through all ages, Gratian, father of our lords princes Valentinian and Valens, noble and triumphant, forever Augusti. Antonius Dracontius, of clarissimus rank, acting deputy for the praetorian prefect for the African provinces, dedicated this statue next to the Capitolium.
