To a man of all illustrious glories, eminent for his administrative functions, admirable for his virtues, distinguished for his integrity, Marcus Aurelius Consius Quartus, of clarissimus rank, governor ( corrector</i) of Flaminia and Picenum, governor ( corrector</i) of Venetia and Histria, governor ( consularis</i) of Belgica Prima, vicar of the Spanish provinces, governor ( proconsul ) of the province of Africa with the power of judge representing the emperor. The council of the decurions of Hippo Regius dedicated [this] (transl. C. Machado).
