Sacred to the Eternal Sleep. Aelia Arsinoe and Aelius Hilarus and Aelius Timotheus the Younger and Publius Antonius Arsinous and Publius Antonius Marinus made this for themselves and their families (5) when they were still alive, and for their freedmen and freedwomen, so that the place granted them would not leave their name [this formula expresses concern that the tomb should remain for the family]. For their father Titus Aelius Timotheus one sarcophagus, likewise for Publius Antonius Samargdus, tutor, one sarcophagus, and for Aelius Polycronius one sarcophagus, likewise whatever (10) is joined, added, built onto this funeral place, and if a wall is added to it after our lifetime, these all will be part of this monument and building. But if someone tries to make this monument and building the object of (15) a donation, or to pass it to another name, he shall be condemned (to pay to) the treasury of the Roman people the sum of 50,000 sestertii, and likewise to the Vestal Virgins the sum of 50,000 sestertii.
