On account of the great moderation of his judgements and advantageous foresight and good fortune of his arrival [among us], they (the Lepcitanians) set [this] up to Laenatius Romulus, excellent man (of equestrian status), governor of the province of Tripolitania, in accordance with a vote of the most peaceful people and a decree of the most splendid city council, at their own expense.
